Nathula Pass

 

Nathu la is an elevated height pass located on the older silk route at the Indo-China border, and is the favorite hotspot for the travelers in Sikkim. Things To Do And See:

The view of the worldwide boundary of India and China, kept by massive gates, pointed wires and armed bunkers at the back of them. The Indian travelers can visit the Watershed War Memorial to greet the soldier’s attempt in the success of war. There is also an Army Exhibition center and canteen nearby. And just around 16 km away from the winding road from Nathula Pass leads to the beautiful Tsomgo Lake; a glacial lake encircled with high mountain peaks and flowery meadows. One cannot afford to miss the Yak ride, which is the most famous attraction for the travelers at this point. All-along with this location, value the mixed visit to Menmecho Lake enjoying the 4 km away from calm track from Baba Mandir; famously well-known as the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple, which is very near to Tsomgo Lake. The Menmecho Lake is fed by the snow wrapped mountain nearby the Jelep La pass. Nearby to this lake are Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary and Zuluk Wildlife Sanctuary, well-stocked with wealthy and rare types of flowers and fauna. Getting there:

Gangtok-Nathula pass is a delightful journey filled with exploration with deceptive transportation and elevated elevation winds. One can opt for common jeeps and another reserved vehicle accessible in Gangtok, from the trip operators accepted by Sikkim government.

Best Time to Visit:

Nathula Pass is open only for Indian nationals on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. It remains entirely covered below snow in winters and the temperature drops downhill to -25 º Celsius. If you are doting for snow, you are advisable to wear woolen clothes to survive with such a chilly climate. Or else, this is not the season to be careful as it is the perfect time to visit Nathula Pass, because of the snow-covered roads and really cold temperature.
