Rohtang Pass Excursion

Rohtang Pass is an adventure tourist site at an elevation of 3979m above sea level. Due to its geographical location it can be frozen even on summer. It is the utmost point on the Manali-Keylong road and produces breath taking Mountain View. It is close by a small Dassaur Lake and igloo shaped temple Beas Kund which is the source of river Beas.

Hadimba Devi Temple

This very old Hindu place of worship built in 1553 is located in Hadimba road and around 3 km from Old Manali in Dhungiri Forest covered with cedar trees. It is devoted to Hadimba Devi, the wife of Bhim who was an important character in the Indian epic, Mahabharata.There is no entry fee to this holy place. The visiting hours are from 8 am to 6 pm daily.

Vashisht Temple/ Hot water Springs

This 4000-year-old prehistoric temple is devoted to the ancient Indian Maharishi Vashisht who was the spiritual leader of Ram and Lakshman in Indian epic Ramayana. This holy place is known for its hot water springs which are considered holy and supposed to have skin remedial properties. One can see separate Turkish styled bathing enclosures for men and women. Entry to the place of worship and hot water springs is free of cost. Temple Timings: 7 am to 9 pm; Bath timings: Morning: 7 am to 1 pm Afternoon: 2 pm to 9 pm on all days

Jogini Falls

Also recognized as Jogni Falls, this attractive waterfall is positioned around 4 km from Vashisht Temple. One can take a trail from Vashisht temple to the Jogini waterfall which will take around 2 hours one way. The complete trek is quite beautiful and giving you the best views of Manali. There is no admission charge to this beautiful waterfall.

Solang Valley

Solang Valley is a must visit place during your Shimla Kullu Manali tour packages from Kolkata. It is located around 14 km from Old Manali. This valley is famous for paragliding during summer and skiing during winter. You can also make a fuss of in the cable car ropeway (Rs. 500 per person), snow scooter activities (Rs. 500 per person) and zorbing activities (Rs. 500 per person) if you have enough time. You can also get to Solang valley by shared cabs and local buses which leave from Manali bus stand. There is no entrance fee with specific charges for the activities. Tourists may visit Solang Valley during day time i.e. from 10 am to 6 pm.

Naggar Castle

It is sited around 25 km from Manali. Naggar Castle is an antique building that was built 500 hundred years before offering amazing views of Kullu Valley. This medieval hall built of wood and stone is an exclusive combination of the Himalayan and Western structural design. It houses an art gallery which comprises of several paintings made by Russian artist Nicholas Roerich. This unique castle served both as a rest house and a tourist attraction. Timings: 7 am to 10 pm. Entry cost: Rs 15 per person and Camera charges Rs. 25 during my last visit.

Jana Falls

Jana Falls is situated in Jana village surrounded by pine trees, apple orchards, deodar jungle, and snow-capped mountain range. It is placed at an expanse of around 13 km from Naggar Castle. Local buses are available from Manali to Jana Falls. There is no entrance fee to visit this waterfall. Check out the local food at the Jana Fall River restaurant. Opening timings: 6 am to 6 pm.

Beas River

Do not miss to visit the Beas river viewpoint which is located near Manali and click some excellent pictures of this river originating from the Himalayas.

Hamta Pass

The Hamta Pass (Also known as Hampta Pass) trek allows you to enjoy attention-grabbing views of the Kullu Valley and Lahaul Valley. The pass is located on the Pir Panjal Range in the Himalaya at an altitude of around 4270 meters and the path includes interesting river crossings. Charges of Hamta Pass Trek may vary based on the itinerary and the number of days. The trek starts from the greenery of Manali and crosses over all the way through Hamta Pass (Hampta Pass) towards the drier section of Lahaul Spiti district.

Van Vihar

If you are looking for spending some peaceful time in Manali, a short walk through the Van Vihar Park is suggested. It is one of the most popular attractions in Manali; Van Vihar is a public park full with lush green and sky touching deodar trees. You can also take a boat trip about the man-made lake.
